Meet Me In Another Life

By Catriona Silvey

4 stars

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All of the opinions are my own and this did not affect my review in any way.

I received a free copy of this book and I was so excited to read it because I thought it was going to be a romance book about how the universe has a say in who we end up with. And although this is true on some level I was still surprised to see that this book is so much more than that. And in the end I truly enjoyed my reading experience.

In Meet me in Another Life we follow Thora and Santi, who are strangers in a foreign city when a chance encounter intertwines their fates. Two people. Infinite lifetimes. One impossible choice.

Like I mentioned before, I went into this book thinking it was about a totally different thing from what I got, and although I still really enjoyed the book, I was a bit disappointed to find out that it wasn’t what I hoped it would be (which is totally on me and not the book). This book is a mixture of romance, fate, mystery, fantasy and science fiction with a fun plot twist added in the end.

The story started out great, we get to meet the characters and follow them throughout their different lives which was really amusing to read. However, it got a little repetitive by the middle, it felt like although each character had a different life each time the plot line was always the same. It wasn’t until they realize what is happening that the story got interesting and I wasn’t able to put it down.

The characters are great, especially Santi, I really connected with his character and I found him charming and sweet. I had a harder time connecting with Thora because she was a bit selfish but in the context of the story it made sense and it worked. The side characters are a bit unmemorable in my opinion but because the story is about Santi and Thora I was able to look past that, especially after the big plot twist was revealed.

The ending was good and it was very shocking, I do believe it was a bit rushed, I wouldn’t have minded seeing less lives but the ending being more detailed but it still worked and it still made me tear up a bit.

Overall, reading this book was such a fun ride, I expected one thing, ended up with another but I still very much enjoyed the book. I love the idea of being destined to meet someone and I love how that concept was executed in this book. This was a great debut novel from Catriona Silver and I will definitely check out all of her future books.
