“Sometimes the path of least resistance isn’t necessarily the right path”

I picked this book up because due to all of my school work I had been in a kind of reading slump and I needed a quick, fun, fast contemporary to help me get through it.

In Listen to your Heart we follow Kate, a girl who´s favorite activity doesn’t include talking to other people. So when her best friend, Alana, convinces Kate to join their high school's podcast, Kate is not expecting to be chosen as the host, in fact she is mortified.

I truly enjoyed this book, it was a fast easy read that took me less than two days to finish because of how invested I was in the story. This book has a lot of tropes I like and it was truly enjoyable to see them done right.

The writing in this book is extremely compelling and the plot was very well developed. The characters are well developed and even though it´s such a short book you end up growing attached to them.

One of my favorite things of the book was the podcast aspect, I was so invested in it that I definitely want to read more book that feature podcasts in their plots. This book is a feel good book. I promise you that no matter what you will end up with a smile on your face after finishing it. I truly recommend for everyone who is interested in contemporary to pick this book up.

I think the best part of this book is the fact that it is not only a romance novel. It deals with topics such as friendship, facing our fears, stepping out of our comfort zone and most importantly I loved how this book dealt with bullying. It was so nice to see a book that discussed bullying and the effects it has on people and how to deal with it, I think that made this book so much more valuable.

This is the first book by this author that I have ever read and it definitely won’t be my last, I feel in love with Kasie West´s writing, characters and stories already. Kasie West's adorable story of secrets, love, and friendship is sure to win over hearts everywhere.
