No Solicitations No Visitors No Quests

I kept hearing about this book all over booktube, and goodreads and I have to be honest and say that I was not in the very least interested in this book, the plot did not caught my attention and because I kept hearing mixed reviews I kept putting it of. I read it because I found the audiobook and saw that is was only 4 hours long so I decided to give it a shoot and as you can see by my rating I was a fool for thinking I was not going to enjoy this.

In this book we follow Nancy, as she goes to the Eleanor West´s Home for Waywards Children, a school for kids who have gone to a magical land and have come back to the “real” world.

I was fascinated by this book, I loved how much thought the author put into classifying the worlds and how each world was special to each kid. This book is very short but even in that short period of time you grow attached to the characters and hope that they are able to go back to their world, where they were once so happy. My favorite thing about this book was the concept of living in a world that accepts you and finds your “weaknesses” as something that has to be celebrated.

My only critique is that everything seemed rushed, you were just getting used to one thing and then another happened and so on, but, I was so into the book and everything that was happening that I didn’t care that it was rushed. The murder mystery aspect of this book was interesting but I was way more interested in hearing about the different worlds the children came from.

Overall I loved this book and I hate myself for waiting so long to read this book. I wish it would be longer so that the murder aspect of the book could have been more developed but I cannot wait to continue on with the series. The representation in this book is great and the different representations are actually discussed. This book deals with very serious topics and has an overall serious tone, however it still manages to be comical and heartwarming at times.

This book is perfect for everyone who has ever thought that they do not belong or fit in.
