“For you were not even a chapter in their book but they were you entire library”
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Samira for letting me read your work. It has been a pleasure working with you and I can’t wait to read all of your future work.
In this poetry collection, the author explores ten different themes: introversion, solitude, dark nights, broken friendships and the grief that follows, anxiety, toxic love, grief, depression, finding love, embracing femininity, and healing affirmations (my favorite ones were solitude, broken friendships and toxic love but all of them are extremely good and worth reading). I loved this poetry collection, is pure and raw and it allows you to feel represented in some aspect of it.
I am so incredibly pleased that I got to read this book, it made me cry, laugh, reflect and had me up at 2 in the morning trying to finish it. Some poems felt like they were written just for me, I felt such a deep connection to what the author was writing that I couldn’t help but get emotional. What the author writes, we all have experienced it, maybe some more than others but I truly feel there is something in this collection for everyone.
This collection is a mix of modern and classical poetry so it appeals to all of us. You will definitely like some poems more than others, I know I did, but in the end, the overall collection is a mesmerizing piece of art that will leave you complete and happy. This collection pushes us to reflect on so many different topics and yet all of them come to the same conclusion: love yourself, be happy with who you are, always be kind and remember that sometimes putting yourself first is the best thing you could do in order to be happy.
My only complaint was that it was a little bit too long for me. I would have loved to see this as a compilation 3 books but as you can see from my rating this clearly did not affect my enjoyment of the book.
Overall this is a spectacular poetry collection that everyone should read. This book provides comfort, reflection and peace to anyone who is willing to accept it and I would highly recommend all of you to read it.
I can’t wait to get myself a physical copy of this book because I truly enjoyed it and I believe it is so important to support new authors.
Once again, thank you Samira for letting me read you work, I loved it and I loved working with you, you are an amazing writer and your words are worth reading. Congratulations <3
